Join me for a guided tour of two of the region’s perhaps lesser-known but very equally captivating and historic attractions.
Mitaki Temple is a serenely quiet, hidden gem, nestled on a hillside on the outskirts of the city of Hiroshima, and dotted with Buddhist statues and little-known memorials for A-Bomb victims.
Then followed by a sushi lunch en route, to the west we’ll visit Kintai Bridge, an elegant ancient five-span arch wood and a stone bridge spanning the banks of the Nishiki River; its high arches were originally constructed without nails.
** Cost calculated on guide fee + needed seating capacity for rental car (includes fuel and parking, toll charges)
I’ll greet you at your hotel or designated meeting point and we’ll make the short drive to Mitaki Temple stroll the grounds, then drive to the famed landmark Kintai Bridge, the elegant, wooden bridge of five bold arches spanning massive stone pillars across the Nishiki River, stopping for sushi en route.
If you are arriving for a day trip from Kyoto or Osaka, I will be happy to recommend your best inbound train schedule and make return bookings for you.
