TOUR:
Mitaki Temple + Kintaikyo + Shukkei-en Gardens

Overview

A Chauffeur Driven Tour: Hiroshima’s hidden gem Mitaki Dera, Landmark Kintaikyo Bridge in Iwakuni + sushi – 8 hours

Join me for a guided tour of two of the region’s perhaps lesser-known but very equally captivating and historic attractions.

Mitaki Temple is a serenely quiet, hidden gem, nestled on a hillside on the outskirts of the city of Hiroshima, and dotted with Buddhist statues and little-known memorials for A-Bomb victims.

Then followed by a sushi lunch en route, to the west we’ll visit Kintai Bridge, an elegant ancient five-span arch wood and a stone bridge spanning the banks of the Nishiki River; its high arches were originally constructed without nails.

Perhaps you might sample one of the delicious dozens of ice cream flavors before we head back to Hiroshima City stopping by at Shukkei-en Gardens a picturesque and tranquil Japanese garden, landscaped by a Tea master in the early 17th century with valleys, bridges, teahouses, arbors, a delightful way to cap off the day’s lovely excursion.
